You can but it's really weird. You have to push the box through the water, jump in the tunnel and collect both items, then jump over the water, jump to the spikes area, bait out the first to spikes by jumping over them briefly, then just run through. No idea if this is the intended way.

I don't seem to be able to exit the second level, although from the screenshots it looks like there's more!
